Phys 214 uiuc reddit. I'm not too worried about 110 as I've already dealt with the hell that was 212 at my community PHYS 213/214 over the summer? I've heard that PHYS 213/214 can be brutal here and rather time consuming so I'm considering taking an equivalent course over the summer (PHYS 203 at Harper Community College). Anyone else try taking this over the summer? Or anyone that has taken it here, is the difficulty over exaggerated? Thanks!. To compensate, the class doesn’t really teach you quantum mechanics. Register for a lecture (A) section, a discussion (D) section and a laboratory (L) section. Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Townies are all welcome. I will say that quantum physics relies on a fair amount of calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and other math concepts that aren’t required for 214. I think my approach to Phys 214 was different than that of most other people - I zoned out a lot during lectures but read and took notes of the prelecture reading material fastidiously. Given the lack of a regional subreddit, it also covers most things in the Champaign-Urbana area. I'm finishing up the university physics lineup, and I'm wondering if 213/214 is taught any better than 211/212. How are PHYS 213 and 214? I completed PHYS 211 and 212 so far. 214/213 may get restructured next semester, but as of now they aren't that different from 211/212. But, 213 and 214 at UIUC are each 2 credit hour courses, where as the third Uni Physics course at my school is a 5 credit course that essentially covers all of the same material. I took Physics 213 and 214, and I found 213 to be much more interesting because the concepts were more logical. Phys 214 Midterm Obviously no discussion of questions here. Phys 214 was restructured in Fall 2019 so if you’re looking at past exams look at those or the ones from last sem if you can find them. I did a whole lot of physics olympiads during high schools, self studied thermo/quantum mech on my own, and know most of the syllabus for 213/214. I’ll admit, 214 is hard (and I’m saying this as a physics major), but if you’re able to do all the hw, discussion and extra problems without too much help (maybe you won’t the first time and that’s ok, just make sure you get it by the exam) and you This subreddit is for anyone/anything related to UIUC. When class starts, make sure you do all of the discussion problems and ask lots of questions when you're unsure. I did a basic C++ class so I have some (little) knowledge of programming. I personally thought it was the easiest 21X course, but that seems like an unpopular opinion. For my second year, I have to complete 213 and 214. PHYS 214 meets only during part of the term; check the meeting dates. What makes them harder is that they cover a similar amount of material in half the time. I found the pre-lectures in 211/212 completely useless and didn't teach me a single thing. Engineering students must obtain a dean's approval to drop this course after the second week of instruction. However, I felt that they were both equally difficult. This subreddit is not sponsored or endorsed by the University of Illinois or any other on-campus group. If anyone has taken this class, could you tell me how hard it was and how much work was required? You won't learn everything there is to know about quantum mechanics after 214, but it's a pretty good start to try and understand the funny experiments and phenomenon you always hear about in quantum mechanics. Discussion sections are Would it be terrible to take physics 213/214 as a first semester freshman? I scored 5s on both AP physics C tests and have completed all required math courses except for linear algebra if that makes a difference. This subreddit is for anyone/anything related to UIUC. PHYS214 is the introduction to quantum physics for ECE majors. I'm an incoming freshman, and it seems like I will be taking Physics 214 this fall. I also did all the assigned HW and practice problems. I don't think there's really a way to prepare for it aside from maybe reviewing 211 and some stuff from chemistry like ideal gas law. Physics 214 Feel kinda lost on the material right now, anyone got any tips? I just kinda stopped understanding stuff in that class since the second lecture and don't want to fall super behind. So, I'm an engineering undeclared major next fall who's planning to go into ECE and minor in physics. Being only 8 weeks long, the course does not go too in depth about most topics, but its introduction to waves and bandstructure is sufficient for future classes. Jun 7, 2013 ยท The Uni Physics sequence at my CC is only 3 courses, rather than the 4 courses at UIUC. How do you guys feel about this midterm? Do you think there's going to be a small/big curve to this? Phys 214 (Quantum) advice So here's what I got on my plate this semester: ECE 110 and 120 Math 415 Phys 214/213 I've heard ECE 120 can get rough but I'm sure I'll enjoy myself. I already have credit for 211/212, so if I review over the summer and do 213/214 proficiency, I could go on to take higher physics electives later PHYS 214 isn't all that bad. What I felt during 211 and 212 to be honest is that what I learned are nutritious, but it is just that I shitted on exams. zdn erc dik fao zfx uxd bgl sea ciq urm imc mnu xkt acb jyh
